Job summary

The Field Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales volume in their designated sales territory. The WSF helps manage the distribution chain and collaborates with the sales representatives of the distribution channel, applying a team approach and maintaining open communication with distributors and outlets. The WSF plans and schedules sales events, developing new sales outlets and maintaining existing outlets with more exposed products. Performs essential functions to ensure overall customer satisfaction and quality service, and establishes and maintains effective communication with management and customers. Responsible for the effective and efficient planning and scheduling of product activation and all efforts to increase sales and distribution of the Blake’s Hard Cider brand. This position may require travel up to 75% of the time.

As a Field Sales Manager, you are responsible for achieving sales, marketing and business activation goals in your territory, managing multiple distributor accounts, as well as playing a key role in the ” achievement of company-wide profitability and customer satisfaction objectives:

  • The role of Field Sales Manager is primarily responsible for effectively and successfully managing and leading our distribution and market initiatives in assigned territories.
  • Meet or exceed budgeted depletion sales as determined during annual brand planning meetings with individual distributors, as well as meeting CE shipping goals as outlined in the Quarterly Bonus Structure.
  • This role, along with all sales management roles at Blake’s, has market responsibilities including significant sampling and brand awareness events, wholesaler development work days with sales reps and Sales and Account Visits Managers across all segments, including a focus on Key Account Retail Development in conjunction with the Blake Key Account Team.

    responsibilities and duties

    General and administrative

  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor that reflects the company’s commitment to quality, continuous improvement and respect for individuals.
  • Effectively plan and prioritize activities and, if necessary, reorganize yourself to meet changes and updates to deadlines.
  • Maintain workbook requirements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the sales, operations, marketing and administration teams.
  • Follow the systems and procedures described in all of the company’s human resources manuals.

    Territory sales management

  • Develops, coordinates and controls all of the company’s sales and marketing activities in their territory to produce the company’s targeted sales and profit goals as part of company policies and intent of the company mission.
  • Ensures that all company transactions are carried out in an ethical and prudent manner.
  • Resolves all relevant customer complaints at the sales management level.
  • Maintains a neat and professional appearance appropriate to the position and situation in which the Field Sales Manager may be involved.
  • Attends trade shows, conventions, seminars and other meetings to improve professional knowledge or to promote the business. Participation will be self-directed in the best interests of BHC.
  • Follows written and verbal company protocols.
  • Coordinate sales and quotes with clients and office staff.
  • Performs all necessary administrative tasks, including all actions necessary to maintain and manage all aspects of the business in an organized, consistent and comprehensive manner.
  • Attends all mandated sales meetings and team conference calls to ensure proper information flow and adherence to stated goals and objectives.
  • Ensures the acquisition of potential customers through appropriate means including, but not limited to promotions, referrals and direct sales calls.
  • Ensures that an accurate recording system is maintained on all distribution contracts and proposals submitted to clients.
  • Coordinates, reviews and maintains various sales data and variance reports.
  • Commitment to discovering sales policies, tactics, services and prices / promotions offered by competitors
  • Monitor and maintain CE sales in distribution and points of sale.
  • Manages, maintains and respects monthly budget expenditure reports.

    Qualifications, skills and requirements

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: College diploma in business with a major in sales or marketing
  • Ability to guide, direct and coordinate all sales activities in the territory.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a territory efficiently.
  • The ability to understand business account needs through conversational interaction and convert those needs into sales.
  • Ability to respond to routine customer inquiries or complaints.
  • Excellent knowledge of the industry and trends impacting the business.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform routine mathematical calculations, including calculating cost of sales and quotes.
  • Ability to deal effectively with clients in person, over the phone or by email.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

    Work conditions

  • The work for this position will be divided between an air-conditioned and smoke-free office environment and outdoors and in other places of business while making sales calls to potential and current clients. Normal car and plane travel risks will apply.
  • The noise level in the working environment is generally moderate.
  • The work will be performed eight to twelve hours a day, five days a week. Weekend work will be required from time to time.
